The Spell Of Wintry Morning Poem by Kaki Venugopala Rao

The Spell Of Wintry Morning

Wintry morning,
Frosty and cloudy,
Erasing sleep,
I open my eyes,
Into the sun
Playing in my room
Through the windows;
I gaze
Through window bars,
Baby sun crawling
Into the foggy sky
In luminous tints,
Scissoring the fog,
Illumining the world;
Blossoms
Of myriad hues
Blooming, smiling
And greeting
From our garden;
Butterflies
Carrying on wings
Rainbows,
Hovering over flowers,
Bees, vying
With butterflies,
Buzzing around blooms;
A nightingale
From its remote
Invisible perch
-A ceaseless
Haunting melody;
Winds, blowing
Softly, chanting
Lullabies;
Leaves of trees
Stirred, rustling
Making lyrics,
Farmhands toiling
In fields
Humming tunes;
Melodies soothing,
Beauties enchanting
Streaming
Into the world
Waking
Into the day;
Wrapped up
In the wondrous melodies
Of the morning,
I wake up
Into the world
Of happiness
And peace
This wintry morning.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem sprang out of my heart enraptured at the spectacles of beauties and streaming melodies that enveloped me one winter morning.
