The Spirit Of Oriental Poetry By Puran Singh Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Spirit Of Oriental Poetry By Puran Singh

Puran Singh is a poet
Of the Mystical Flame
Of Fire,
Holy Fire
Burning it
In some cave,
It is
Divine poetry,
Oriental poetry.

One of The Divine Poet,
The Bhakta,
As Bhaktas See Things,
He is stray and sporadic
In his ruminations
A writer Sufistic, Sikhistic
And allegorical
With his assessment
Personal, purely individual.

He is poetical in his
Pose writings
About Rumi, Khayyam, Mira,
Wordsworth, Milton, Blake,
Tolstoy, Goethe, Nietzsche,
Whitman, Hafiz, Ram Tirtha,
Guru Nanak and the Guru Granth Sahib.

Puran Singh is a writer of
Divine Love,
Divine Man,
Of shinghara and love poetry
Even going to Japan, Persia, Punjab and beyond,
Of the blue boy of Brindavan
And the gopika,
Of Jayadeva and his Gita Gobinda
Catching the oriental spirit and fire of poetry.
