The Steps Of Becoming Poem by Jackson Ford

The Steps Of Becoming

A faint whisper heard from afar
Darkness moving with haste
From one thought to a second then to a third
Let it out
Get it out
Gone…
Burning, Suffocating
Please open, Please open, breathe
Freezing, Done
Exhaustion sets in
Weakness
Guilt, Flowing throughout
Translucent horror
Longing for rest
Finally calm again
Breathing in frigid cold air
Eager for the light
Craving
Fighting, to stand.
