The Straight And The Crooked
The straight is a luscious fruit
to the crooked
The straight started out confused and afraid
Falling through a trap
Going through a maze
Full of life
Searching to stay alive
Usually young
Sometimes old
But hardly ever in-between
As the path we walk
We choose
Sometimes changing sides
Because the crooked are dead or dieing
Not feeling a thing
They are careless
All they can do is take and use
After the innocence is used up
It's worthless
and thrown back
If the straight live
They will no-longer be afraid
But strong and brave
And you're not worthless to a man that can see
Let's not be worthless to one-another
Your tale is worth a lot to me
All I want to do is hear your story
Hold you
Help us see
Yourself
And me
I will tell you I know
Because I do
I have my story to tell too
