The Stumped Egret Poem by Alexandre Nodopaka

The Stumped Egret

I would cut
both legs
of the egret

standing
on its single leg
by the border

of the pond.
It's still
too high

for my
short intellect
incapable

of keeping up
with the
descending

feather
from
the cosmos.
