The Sullen Fallen Poem by ellery lim

The Sullen Fallen

I’ve fallen time and time again
The things I’ve lost, never to regain
My hands bled
My tears poured
Both like a never ending river
It flows and it flows
Anger wells up inside me
Blinding me, unable to see
The pain
The pain
The unwashable stain
My over exerted strain
Cleanse me in a pouring rain
To the world I was a fool
Not one man had a clue
Although they saw me as a stranger
A strange relation
This random nation
Was it sympathy or blithe
They felt when I fell down in my life
Not one hand offered
They stared in silence
Not one man approached
Whispers and laughter behind me
Why have I fallen?
Not that I’m sullen
But the pain
Like gravity weighs me down
Left a scar left a frown
