The Sward Poem by Josey Alfred

The Sward

THE SWARD

Strange is the heart that reacts with rage!
And boils with the least of fright,
And in that heat it tries to burn
the cause of the fright with dreadful fire

Foolish parents fulfill unjust demands!
And let children grow, with selfish minds,
Fulfill their fancies, good, bad or worse!
And make their minds, willful stubborn.

They grow unfit to be in civilized world!
But gain status in protected, won world!
And build castles in fancies, own world
But stumble in life, when realities rub.

Then they find solace in wanton ways!
And get hung up in narcotic drugs
And indulge in, torture and crimes
And confine their kin in misery life long.
