The Taint Of Misery Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Taint Of Misery

a red tomato
rolled on the table
fell on the floor
and smashed itself
spilling all its
pulp and seeds.

your agonizing
gaze spells the difference
between empathy
and sympathy.

the brown puppy was
not distracting at all
as it wags its tail
for you without any
taint of misery.
