The Teacher Poem by Octavian Cocos

The Teacher

You do something that fulfills you
Every day you come to school
And you teach with so much passion
And with kindness, as a rule.

When you see that your dear pupils
Take good marks, then you exult,
But you're sad to know that others
Do not have a good result.

And the time flows like a river
With all kinds of demonstrations
And you count your age with pleasure,
Not in years... in generations.

Now, you deem that maybe many
Criticized you, thinking small,
But one thing is clear, for certain,
It is you who taught them all.
