The Tears I Cried Poem by OJO Peter

The Tears I Cried

Rating: 5.0

The tears I cried,
they fell like rain,
a deluge of sadness
and unending pain.

Each drop a reminder
of what I had lost,
of love once treasured,
now a shattered ghost.

I tried to hold them back,
to keep them inside,
but they spilled out freely,
an unstoppable tide.

They flowed down my cheeks
and onto my chin,
marking my sorrow
like a stain on my skin.

I cried for the memories
that would never be,
for the future I dreamed of
but would never see.

But even as I wept
and the tears continued to fall,
I knew that somehow
I would rise above it all.

For tears are a symbol
of the strength within,
the courage to face
the trials life brings.

And so I let them flow,
knowing that in time,
the tears I cried
would heal this wounded heart of mine
