The Tempter Or The Tempted Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

The Tempter Or The Tempted

The tempter and the tempted get united
In a frenzy of kinship most intimate
Deluded this evil delight lasts life-long or even beyond
In Spring, blooms seduce even Puritans militant
Sweet scents and petals soft, extravagant
Passions run riot and move mountains
Chaos breaks out, dazzle of colours blurs out vision
Rhythm natural, serenely sweet slip into roars violent
Devotees would have us believe in Design immaculate
In this world where sinners and saints move about
O Lord, was n't Thou that made the combat inevitable?
The baffled humans dare ask Thee:
Whom would Thou favour, the tempter or the tempted?
