The Tepid Church Poem by Blessing Kalamatila

The Tepid Church

I always wondered how my existence could benefit others,

If God created me to represent the light then why do I seem opaque?
If I was chosen for a purpose then why did I choose ambition,
perharps to excite the flesh?
If I was born inside christian circles then why did I conform to a circular world?

See! I have fallen
but only short of his glory,
so what are You the righteous ones doing about it?

I 'll tell you,
since christianity to you is shortly defined as a glory life,
A constitution that highlights the wrong deeds of others,
notice how God sits on his throne whilst we walk with our crowns;
judging the shortcomings of our fellow brothers.

You have a mandate that you can't take

so you shift your Identity
to self absorbed entities,
regarding the lost as nonentities,
but still do Nothing!

If your genuine love for him is misplaced,
your standard is lowered to that of a mistress.

your sin he paid with interest
so how dare you mistake his meekness for weakness!

I utter only the truth but whose the liar?
me who speaks or the christians that can't find what they seek,
me who speaks or the christians who are too proud instead of being meek,
me who speaks or the christians whose service is out of reach,
me who speaks or the Pastors at the alter that stand to teach
but can't practise what they preach.

Its quiet sad as I can't tell apart the dead from the living,
your life in Christ has no stop its breathing without believing that qualifies you as a corpse.

Excuse my honesty but the thin line between love and hate is nothing as compared to the pharisees of the past,
the majority of self proclaimed christians share a common mistake; Religion.

"Go'ye and multiply! "
yet all I see amongst you are divisions.
