As I turn sixty today
I say:
I have not the Theory of Everything
I have the Theory of Life(HD)
Where H equals Hard and D equals Drive.
HD=E/F
Where E is Ennui and F equals Function.
Life is Ennui over Function;
Function, Ennui over Life;
Ennui, the Function of Life.
And after life?
Six lines
Of 'Six Great Ships of the Line':
titanic
britannic
googlitic,
cynic
pessimistic
and ic.
