The Thingamebob Poem by Paul Warren

The Thingamebob

Rating: 3.5

We found it on the shelf in a shed
From the dust it had sat as the dust fed
But the gears and cogs still worked around
And it made an efficient machinery sound

So I picked it up and it had some weight
Of something built to last in its long term fate
But no one now knows what it had done
In the olden days it had always run

So I think to myself why is it still here in the shed
Someone thought it was too good to throw it out instead.
