The Tongue Poem by Randy McClave

The Tongue

Rating: 5.0

With it I have lied and cursed
With it I have praised and sung,
It has spoke of people at their worst
That devious tongue.

It has spread rumors and also hate
Caused people to be crucified and hung,
It has been used to calm and then sedate
The devilish tongue.

No human can ever control or tame it
Whether they be old or young,
About its deceptions apostles have writ
That wavering tongue.

Gossip it has angrily tossed
Insults it has quickly flung,
No matter of the consequences or the cost
That deceitful tongue.

Quicker than any thought
Or that of a poisonous viper that has sprung,
Truth is forgotten and not sought
When there is an evil tongue.

Tongue should be used in glorifying God and not in spreading lies... A well composed poem, sir Randy...10++++
