The Tourists... Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Tourists...

WE Visited Tacloban
and arrived at the site
where Yolanda has
drowned so many people
to death

they never expect to
die from the visiting
water

we posed on the top of
MV Jocelyn the steel boat that
sliced the houses of the
squatters area

hundreds died that evening
alone but some say many
remain unaccounted....

we are tourists here
smiling to the cameras on top
of MV Jocelyn unable to really
feel the misery of the people....
