The Tower - Poem by Barry Middleton

it is the tower
where all things are seen

it is the pinnacle
of life and aspiration

once reached
one cannot embrace deceit

it is bewilderment
the desperation of truth

it is the tower of finality
where futility is known

it is the last desire
a last wish for breath

Topic(s) of this poem: aspiration, desire, futility, truth
