The Town With No Names

Idlefrets - - 13.06.2020

1. Ah cannae mind juist when it started, maybe - 59,
Yir teachers ei yased surnames, and that for me was fine,
But ah'v noticed that in recent years, whilst saunterin' up the street,
The bi-ornar receptions that I get fae folks ah meet.

Chorus:
" How'ree Tam, or Frank" I'd say or Shug or Jan or Joyce,
Mindin' ither folks' names tae me's a maist important choice;
But all ah get's "Hello there", or something juist as silly,
"Hello em (mumble) , hiya thingaby", Jeez, "Ma name is BILLY".

2. It's naw juist folk that's settled here, but some wha's born an' breed,
They ca' me by ma brither's names, but they're baith lang syne deid;
Even them Ah went tae schuile wi' look the ither wei,
So I make a point o' blockin' their path, confrontin' them an' bawl, "HEI"
Chorus:
3. Shairly it's naw much tae ask tae mind a body's name!
Ah wasnae christened ‘what's-his-face', ma coupon's ei the same,
Ma parents chose a daicent tag, so let the lord be thankit,
Ah micht a been an unco' - - - ‘Tallulah Belle' or ‘Blanket'.
