The Tragedy Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Tragedy

Rating: 4.0

The tragedy

The African continent was called pearl
And ships visited turn by turn
Asians were first to contact for trade
And mixed with population to meet needs

Rich with land and natural wealth
The people were sturdy and strong with health
They worked very hard to earn name
But the foreigners kept them under yoke and tamed

The natural wealth was plundered
Forests were cut
And now their wealth was cornered
Many parts were under seize and dominated

The land has turned infertile
With draughts affecting often and while
The self sufficiency in food is starving people
This has turned them into piracy with individual groups

The locals cooperated for downfall
The continent responded no call
The nations lost shine and honor
Today they face simple terror

Dictators and pirates
Spread hate
Make the ocean way unsafe
And ground boiling with strife
