The Trap Too Far And Near

The trap too far to cause a stir in the mind,
Man too oblivious and careless to sense the danger,
Enticement of alcohol and drugs silently consorting with man,
In the corners and dark alleys,
Enjoyment of newly found love affair!
Freedom to forage in and out of danger obliviously,
Like friends drift near,
Birds of a feather flocking together,
Old friend's straight, drift away,
Birds of a feather flocking together away,
From the inclement season,

Experience of clear sky with consternation by man,
Sunshine too bright to cause recoil,
Into the cocoon of darkness,
Where it's too cold to seek alcohol and drug warmth,
Getting out of the darkness, in and out, endless loose grip,
Accelerator, gears and brakes adjustment,
The mechanic not too concerned about finishing the work,
Motor race date too far to cause a stir in the mind,
To push for more alcohol and drug comfort,
Come race day, swerving in and out of the way,
But nonchalant not to lose the way to Israel,
The loss may be too far and near to trace back,

The smell of alcohol and drugs, ubiquitous,
The trap too far and near,
Fresh air brushing past,
Lulling the concern inkles,
Alcohol and drug's smell too strong and weak,
The visitors comfort lure,
The choice freely available to stay in
Or out of darkness and cold,

The puff adder's tongue, too long a colourful grass blade,
The marvel of the insects,
Honey sucker punch, the mount of the train ride to oblivion,
Puff adder's relish, the pull of the railway stock,
The journey into the abyss, tipping the scales with addiction,
Man too oblivious to notice the sink,
Colleagues and friends enjoying the ride,
From light to darkness,
Single train ticket to Damascus!
