will be hard to match for slap stick drama
casts a long shadow over politics America
a legacy which may not fade so swiftly
like scrambled eggs to taste like it or not;
it was not ignoring reality of coronavirus
by skin of his teeth throw him out of office
words we mouth can quickly fail go south
stupid remark calling those serving in military;
suckers and losers even if we dislike war
those who serve their country are prepared
to die deserve respect Trump may have lost;
4 out of 5 military votes citizens let us hope
there will now be a healing wise leadership
global politics screams give us wise leadership;

The theme of this poem is regardless of our personal views on war, respect is due to military personal prepared to put their lives on the line and die for their country.
I wrote the poem 'Personal Views On War: Silent When Respect Is Due', inspired by my comment on my poem 'The Trump Legacy In November 2020', by the poet Terence George Craddock and dedicated to all military personal who serve with honour, especially those who make the ultimate sacrifice.
