The Try Of A Lifetime Poem by Jordan Farrell

The Try Of A Lifetime

Rating: 5.0

My team mate tosses the ball to me,
A burst of hope and I advance forward.
The opponents surge forward with glee,
And I dodge them one by one.
They curse angrily as I skip through their defence.

I have a feeling of determination,
I have the energy to sprint to the try line
My enemies try and smash me to the ground
I evade and view an opening, nothing is in my way.

I sprint forwards, the try line drawing closer.
No one can catch me, everything seems to be in slow motion.
I reach the line and smash the ball into the ground with triumph.
A roar of excitement erupts from the crowd.
My team mates scream, running towards me.
Hug me and clap me on the back.

My first game. The try was unexpected.
A tear of happiness. And it wipes the dirt away from my face.
The Try of a Lifetime.

No problem ;) I love playing rugby, it's one of my favorite sports. This try was the first for my team.
