The Tulips of OTTAWA
As I drove in to OTTAWA
the capital of Ontario
my heart for a short while went slow
what I saw lay ahead of me
were a million tulips
so multi coloured were these
Wordsworth's daffodils came to me
my mind was fresh as the breezy tulips
it had calm about then
now unknown as the flowers are grown
and sadly drooping in the worst scenario
of Canadian beauty
Sad the tulips now have tears like us
the sun comes up just to console
lady birds once again
you will be sound and whole
like tulips of yore
as before
Wordsworth will come by
just to say Hi
Daffodils, Oh my
No poet the great
these are not your flowers
of your plate
these are my Tulips
Oh poet mate
you are now duly late
let me yet remain up to date
Tomorrow with destiny I have a date
your daffodils may
but my tulips can't wait
