Once upon a time I had a dream,
which was not as soft as cream.
Not the chocolate rivers and trees,
nor the flying cats and fleece.
I saw many beautiful plants with flowers
which became evil with unusual powers.
The whole scene became frightening,
then I felt my hopes brightening.
I found myself as a strict lawyer,
then a teacher and a movie director.
I saw many of my crazy plans fly,
like going round the world but without wondering why.
Next I could see the dream I wanted to see,
which was to make sadness affecting none.
Most people only think of themselves these days,
not helping the needy in any known way.

Beautiful train of thoughts, well articulated and insightfully penned with a call for universal brotherhood of man, and charity especially to the uncharitable. A lovely poem with good rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

Next I could see the dream I wanted to see, which was to make sadness affecting none. Most people only think of themselves these days, not helping the needy in any known way. Let your dream come true in your life. let you find consolation and inner joy in helping the needy....... love this poem.. tony
