The Upwey Girls Poem by Francis Duggan

The Upwey Girls

Oh the Upwey girls are pretty with the best they can compete
And they show a lot of body in the humid Summer heat
Yes they show a lot of body, show a lot of sun tanned skin
And the mountain girls of Upwey have ways of attracting men.

Have you ever been to Upwey, have you been there in the Spring?
When the mynas on the rooftops have their happy notes to sing
And the pretty Sheilas in Spring dresses and they walking to and fro
If you've never been to Upwey you are missing something though.

Oh the Upwey girls are pretty I have never seen so fair
Though I've been to many places I have been to many a where
And do believe me if I tell you that they have beauty, beauty rare
With the lovely girls of Upwey you will find none to compare

Have you ever been to Upwey when the Summer's in her bloom
And the rose in Village garden scent like sweetest of perfume
And have you seen the Upwey beauties in their garden taking sun?
You have never been to Upwey aren't you unlucky one.

Have you ever been in Upwey towards south east of Melbourne Town?
Where the girls are quite attractive and their sun tanned bodies are brown
And if you've never been in Upwey visit there in Summer time
And see rare beauties in bikinis basking in the warm sun shine.
