The veil hid her face from the world
She couldn't leave without wearing one
For it held back the fear she felt from
The world as it spun in circles around her
And looking through it the world didn't seem
As bad as she remembered it before the veil
There was a time when her beauty shone through
But that was before she and the world moved on
So she carefully pulls the veil down across her face
As she looks in the mirror adjusting its place
Until she is able to leave her house protected from the din
Comfortable in the thought that the world would not get in
