The Violence Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Violence

Rating: 4.0

Domestic Violence

It is when everybody
Denies
You've been through it.
No one acknowledges it.

It's a dark secret
Kept behind sinful smiles.
The smiles of the violence
It denies.

The screams of the victim
Cannot be heard
For the secrecy is
Poison here on Earth.

Wow! how powerful, sinful smiles, so very descriptive.
