The Visit Poem by Thomas Plotz

The Visit

The day the eagles came to visit,
Three were perched up in the trees.

Squirrels were frozen in the street;
As they were looking down, at me.

One flew off as I first went outside,
I'm sure just a little moody, from this new life
Guess got tired of waiting, for their chance to say hello,
Though, it was their goodbye

The other two, gave me a minute more
The boy and the girl;

As I waved and almost called out their names,
For I love you all the same.

As they then turn and flew off east to follow the other,
To find, a new place, to live.
