Thewailof Abubble Poem by desamangalam ramakrishnan

Thewailof Abubble

Fasten me
between the Time and the Distance:
give me to drink
an Ocean in a tiny pot,
then let the tyrant burn my back
with his whip.

Fasten me
between the tiger and the cuckoo:
give my teeth to the tiger
give my dreams' blood to the cuckoo.

Fasten me
between a desolate tree
and the wood,
then name my loneliness
as desolate tree-wood.

Fasten me
between the tides,
let me write hearing
the songs of the colourful fish
in the coral reef
and allow me to learn its rhythm.

Fasten me
between the door and the sanctuary,
let me be the idol in the shrine
when it is shut,
and be the guard
when it isopened:
Does anybody of the pilgrims
hear the wail of a bubble
begging for rescue.
