The Walk Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Walk

Rating: 5.0

How many times we walked this walk,
With someone we both knew.
And mores the times, we sat and talked,
And knew that we were oh so few.

And today I walked alone old friend,
And there's naught that I can do,
We all knew it had to end,
When all that was left, was me and you.

We were so many at the start,
And now there's only me.
Yes we all had to have a part,
In this grand scheme called destiny.

Today they carry you away,
To lay you near that old oak tree.
You'll no longer come to join the fray,
You'll rest forever so peacefully.

I'll walk alone now for a while,
Yet I'll never know how long,
Or when, I'll walk that long last mile,
And be at last, where we belong.

I thought like this, and I felt like this when my father was dead, and i found myself lonely. A touching poem!
