The Wars At All Times Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

The Wars At All Times

The Same Wars for all Times

the wars at the other time was
the same war
unlike our technologies butstill the same war,
with crimson blood soaked country sides, the cities,
and even our seas,

the young boys played marching tin soldiers with slung rifles with bayonets,
still as powerful as the swords, the arrows, the stone spears orthe clawhammers of the old armories.

mothers wept for the slain corpses,
women, daughters raped and ravaged.

.but where no vultures or arrows were seen flying in the skies,
bombs felled.

still the deadsoldiers and civilian children lay startled on the fields and staredtransfixed at theheavenly skies transfixed and asking the same question

stately calm or dressed on best tunics by embalmer artists,
or the hastily drugged ground holes and the sea burials,

wad of detonated flesh meats from disintegrating bombs,
or grotesque manikin replicas did not abate the same answers and the same reasons.

lt would be thegrab for your lands, gold, your willsand
the war booties,

to sow fear, slavery and then your ultimate submissions to the superior will
of the conquerors,

like The Roman Empire or the fuse lit from the Balkan States,
or another would be Hitler incarnate rising like a vampire from the grave

it will beanother World War, the same as the last

mankind will still repeat the same wars for all times,
mistakes, the same history again and again.
