The Water Poem by Amber Piercy

The Water

The Water

My heart is broken
From all the tears not spoken
From the time that feels stolen
And from love not awoken
If I could give you more time I would
I'd give you the world if I could
Just to know that you are good
Then it would be understood
That your love was strong
And you healed what was wrong
You danced to a different song
And it seems now you don't belong
But I will love every second I see you
If it's the last thing I do
To God my prayers are sent to
That he will continue to guide you
Momma you will always be my fighter
With each step you will feel lighter
As the silver strings pull tighter
I will see you again in the water
