The Weekly Poetry Session Poem by Margaret O Driscoll

The Weekly Poetry Session

Rating: 5.0

Mid morning Monday in medieval Dublin
I relish a rasher sandwich by St.Auden's
Japanese click their way around Dublinia
High-tech headphones replace viking horns

In the Liberties I hobnob with the locals
Along St. James' Street I take a dander
Guinness trucks add to the drone of traffic
The Luas horn sounds like an angry gander

Monday evening in Cork, the real capital
I rush from Kent Station through the alley
Just in time for the weekly poetry session
Up in The Hayloft at The Long Valley
