The Stone Fort Poem by Margaret O Driscoll

The Stone Fort

Rating: 5.0

Climbing to the fort in humidity,
at the end of the lane I stop
Pin cushions of Devil's Bit Scabious
Amid flowering spreading Stonecrop

I slowly climb up the many steps,
brambles flowering, pink and white
Before me on the top of the hill,
the stone fort on a scenic site

It certainly is, a wonderful vista of land all around on one side and on the other a clear view of a West Cork coastline and ocean beyond! Glad you enjoyed the trip to Knockdrom Sone Fort in Co' Cork! ! !
