The Windows Of Kashmir Poem by Kishore Asthana

The Windows Of Kashmir

These were the windows
from which flowers peeped
And smiling faces could be seen
These were the windows of the friendly wave
And delicious promises awaiting

To say the heart cries is nothing
It bleeds its tears in torrents
And depression for a loved one lost
Is a physical blow, unseen

Grieve you,
For these misting panes you loved
Are but shards now, piercing the mind
And a dark hole in broken mortar
is all we have
Of blue eyes that twinkled
In the windows of Kashmir
