The Wright Brothers



Once there were two brothers, Wilbur and Orville Wright
Bicycle their passion, their obsession was flight
To put an aeroplane in a high altitude,
Their dream of a lifetime, a dream pursue the would
At first they did it wrong, and the future seemed blight
But in 1903 finally did it right

When the Great Aerodrome failed to become aloft
One December 8 from a Potomac houseboat
Some estimated that Man will conquer the air
Not within a lifetime but in a million years

It did not take that long, it took only nine days,
17th December, year nineteen hundred third
In North Carolina, in a place called Kitty Hawk
The Wright's first aeroplane from ground to air took off
A machine that was much, much heavier than air
To the cheers of the crowd, up and airborne became
