There Is A Loneliness Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Is A Loneliness

There is a Loneliness of not being understood
There is a Loneliness of not being loved
There is a Loneliness of not being wanted
There is a Loneliness of being rejected
There is a Loneliness of failing
There is a Loneliness of having no one to speak with
There is a Loneliness of being abused
A Loneliness of being punished
A Loneliness in Fear
A Loneliness in Despair
A Loneliness of needing help and having no one to help
There is a Loneliness of feeling worthless completely
A loneliness of knowing one is not good enough
There is a Loneliness of feeling the endless blackness and emptiness of Space
There is a Loneliness of Nothingness
There is a Loneliness of being abandoned
There is a Loneliness of never having been loved
And against all these Loneliness
The kindness of one caring human being
May perhaps help.
