There Is Only Planet A Poem by Hebert Logerie

There Is Only Planet A

Thank you President Macron Emmanuel
I do not want to rhyme your last name
I do not want to rhyme Vladimir's name
I want to remain polite, civilized and normal
You get the point, as you said: "there's no Planet B"
There's one planet that we do not want to lose
She is yours and she is mine too. Planet Earth is ours
Let's stop the erosion, global warming anyway
That we can. We are losing land, our shores everyday
If you go to Haiti, to Jamaica, in the Caribbean Sea
It is obvious that our beaches, shorelines are smaller
Than a few years ago. Hop on a helicopter, you'll see
What I mean. We are in trouble. We are becoming poorer
Every minute of the day. Yes, of course, there is only Planet A
Factually, there is no Planet B. Thank you for telling it like it is
If we do not stop the bloody mess; next time, I will rhyme
Your last name and Putin's. And that will not be a crime
Thank you for telling, to the American Congress, the truth
That was a very thoughtful speech. Now, I can play my luth.
