There's A Fire In Me. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

There's A Fire In Me.

Rating: 5.0

There's a fire in me.
It wants to eat me up and spread out all over the land.
There's a fire in me.
It wants to shout out loud a rage that's held hostage in this bodily cage.
There's a fire in me.
It insists on saying 'yes' when all the hounds around agree to a stubborn 'no'.
There's a fire in me.
It sparkles flames of blame on the continuing cruelty of humanity.
There's a fire in me.
It needs space to lead a race against all kinds of self-mindedness.
There's a fire in me.
It shines with mines of hopefulness none can ever sever from the fate of those coming late.
There's a fire in me.
It keeps up the burning long after the logs are fully consumed.
There's a fire in me.
It will not be tamed until the sirens of violence are swept away into the sea of silence.
