There Was A Country Poem by Frank Adie

There Was A Country

There was a country -
In the twentieth century-
And Biafra was its name;
We shed our blood to defend same,
But victory hid her face;
We will not give up, no we won't, for we must end this race;
Our strong and able-bodied men died to defend this cause;
We want Biafra, we want freedom, marriage is not by force.
