The road ahead stretches wide,
but it carries the echoes of footsteps that came before.
Each stone beneath my feet
was shaped by hands I will never know.
The wind whispers names I cannot place,
their stories woven into the fabric of this moment.
I am not the first to stand here,
nor will I be the last.
The past is not a shadow-
it is a root,
holding firm while branches reach
for what lies unseen.
To move forward is to carry it all,
the weight, the wisdom,
the triumph, the loss.
There is no blank slate,
only layers of time,
each one teaching me how to grow.
