These Days Poem by Paul Warren

These Days

Rating: 5.0

These days they weigh me down
In what I've seen and heard around
We lose those precious things
And are left with what heartache brings

Each time I close my eyes
All I see are cloudy skies
Such acts in terrible times
Just wanting peace to be mine

And what is left for the broken ones
So scarred by what has been done
Do they hold on tight to hate
Or forgive and not forget in their long wait.
