These Noisy Music Festivals Poem by Francis Duggan

These Noisy Music Festivals

These noisy Music Festivals where the rock bands are so loud
Where peace is quiet a stranger amongst the noisy crowd
I have been in such gatherings though I felt out of place there
A balding man near sixty with gray and straggly hair.

To be alone with Nature I long for such a place
In some quiet wood or Parkland where mine seems a welcome face
Where the song birds are singing on every bush and tree
Our differences make us so interesting or so 'twould seem to me.

To sit on a bar room balcony drinking a beer or wine
Listening to a rock band at a noisy Music Festival seems to suit some people fine
But I would rather a quiet place away from man made noise
What to some seems quite boring some other one enjoys.

These noisy Music Festivals do not suit me at all
I'd rather be in some quiet park overlooking a waterfall
Taking in the splendid scenery and listening to the song birds sing
The sights and sounds of Nature are such a pleasing thing.
