They Stood In The Rain Poem by Joyce Hemsley

They Stood In The Rain

Humour Intended.

Determined to slim, ladies wouldn't give in.
'Oh to be thin', they said with a grin...
The urge to reduce the body weight
Became an obsession that couldn't wait!
Club members queued ~ two by two:
Mrs Brown, Mrs Black, to name but a few!

And called out their final warning...
'Slimming-down' starts this morning.

So they all stood aside,
as club doors opened wide
and the owners took down the awning
' Welcome To The Club '
