They Will Not Come Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

They Will Not Come

They will not come nearer to you,
Though you are definitely a good soul now,
The birds still believe you are a hunter, a treacherous person,
Who hunted one of them the other day.
You are calling the birds again and again with great love and affection,
But they are flying farther away;
As you have been proved faithless in their sensitive eyes,
They will not trust you again.
But yonder you can clearly notice
They are going very close to the lean and pale vagabond without any fear,
Even though he is not inviting the birds at all,
Still they consider him as their true friend,
Who will surely do no harm to them.
Faith is such a precious thing, one of the greatest virtues of life,
It is very difficult to achieve;
But if it is gone just for a moment,
It is gone for ever.
