Thief Poem by Charlie F. Kane

Thief

You are a thief, because there is an empty spot
On the shelf where I used to keep my heart.
You must have got pass the CCTV,
Charmed the security guard on duty,
Snuck past the barriers and climbed over the walls.
And now these if dust gathering
In the spot my heart used to be.

I’m not asking for it back,
But I do ask you take care of it,
It’s very fragile, it’s been broken before.
Polish it every now and again
And don’t forget that it’s yours now.
