Things Which Have Come To Pass

THINS WHICH HAVE COME TO PASS

things which have come to pass
not yet noticed
the grass stirs and remembers
owlets in the violet hollows
stare with gold discs of eyes
unused to vivid light
on the roses
this far, into the night
miracles, not yet signs
and angels breathing in and out
so that the winter stars waver
like my small candle going out
and then, springing back
and I say in an untranslatable way
Oh thank you God, I am still alive.
