641. Of all the good talents,
possessing a fluent tongue stands out.
642. Gain and loss depend on our speech;
so guard against slip of the tongue.
643. Those who heard the speech be charmed.
Unheard should long to hear it.
644. Speak knowing the strength of the words.
Virtue and wealth couldn’t surpass it.
645. Give a speech which can’t be
countered by another.
646. The wise speak words to catch
and seize the use of the words heard.
647. The mighty, unflagging and fearless in speech
can be hardly conquered.
648. The world is quick to hear on affairs
If one speaks in poised, pleasing ways.
649. Those who can’t speak a few faultless words
desire to waffle on.
650. Those who can’t explain things learnt
are a bunch of blossoms sans fragrance.
