This Afternoon Poem by Marilyn Jean

This Afternoon

By chance
Catching
A light
Being shut

Hurrying out
Of the box
Rushing down
Full at heart

Trying to see
A glimpse
Of them
Too late

Just a figure
Going down
The stairs
looking sad

Then and there
They were gone
Always the same
So was pain
