This Beautiful Slumber

Rating: 5.0
Descending down the hill I see
The cities lights strategically
Placed about the road below
The warm embrace I’ve come to know

The year is new and fresh like rain
As all these thoughts revive again
Subdued from vows I swore to keep
That collect in puddles beneath my feet

Wake up…
Wake up…

My head is loud as logic cries
What truth could come from tender eyes?
Unknown as to why it all seems new
For some reason I taste autumn with you

Wake up…

The undertow has yet to take me
The morning sun could never wake me
I refuse to let this moment shake me

Never wake me
Never wake me
